Why It Has to Be One Day
Bedbugs do not respect whose room is whose. If one bedroom is treated on Tuesday and the room next to it waits until the following week because its occupant was away, the untreated room keeps feeding the treated one. Every room with signs, and usually the shared rooms between them, needs doing in the same visit.
That means one person being in charge of the date. It does not have to be the one who found them. It should be whoever is best at chasing people.
Agreeing the Date
- Get everyone's diary out at once. A group message asking each person for the days they cannot do works better than asking which days they can.
- Work back from the prep. Each room needs clearing the evening before, so the day before the visit matters as much as the day itself.
- Plan for shift workers. Someone on nights may be asleep when we arrive. Agree in advance that their room is ready and where they will be.
- Decide who lets us in. One named person, with a phone number we can reach.
- Tell us about anyone away. A sharer abroad can still have their room done if they have agreed and someone else has prepared it.

Heat or Chemical for a Shared Flat
Heat is usually one visit, which means one date to agree and one day out of the flat. It costs more than chemical, and the heat-sensitive items in every room have to come out first. The heat treatment page for the borough has more on that.
Chemical treatment costs less but needs two, sometimes three visits about 10-14 days apart. In a house where nobody agrees on anything, three dates is three chances for one room to be missed. It works well in a share where people are organised and the rooms are easy to clear.
Who Pays, and How to Split It
If you rent, report it to the landlord or agent in writing before booking anything. Whether they arrange and pay depends on the tenancy and on what caused it, and we are pest controllers, not legal advisers. If the house ends up paying, agree the split before the visit rather than after. The Hammersmith and Fulham page covers fitting treatment around working weeks more generally.
It also helps to agree who is doing what in the shared rooms. Someone has to clear the hall floor, someone has to deal with the sofa cushions, and someone has to empty the bathroom of aerosols if it is heat. Put names against each job in the group chat.
Whatever the arrangement, keep the Parsons Green share talking after the visit too. If one person starts getting bites again, they should say so the same week rather than hoping it passes.

Bedbug Control Parsons Green — Questions
Only my room has bites. Do the others have to prepare theirs?
If their rooms show no signs when checked, they may not need treating. Rooms next to yours and the living room are the ones we would ask about first.
One sharer refuses to clear their room. What then?
We cannot treat a room we cannot get into properly. Talk to the landlord or agent, because an untreated room will undo the rest.
Can we do it on a weekend?
Ring and ask about the dates you have in mind. We will tell you what is actually available rather than promise a slot.
What do we do with everyone's bedding?
Each person strips their own bed in their own room, bags it there and hot-washes it. Nobody carries loose bedding through the hall.
How is the price worked out for a share in Parsons Green?
On the number of rooms and on heat or chemical. Treatments start at £220 and you get the figure on the phone before booking.
