Why Every Room Has to Be Seen
In a house let room by room, each tenant tends to think of their room as a separate flat. Bedbugs do not. They move along skirtings, under doors and in the bags people carry across the landing, and a shared kitchen or bathroom gives them plenty of traffic to ride on.
So the first step in a Hounslow Town Centre house like this is to look at every bedroom, not only the one where someone complained. The tenant with no bites may simply be the one who does not react. If you are not sure how far it has gone, a bedbug inspection starts from £120 and tells you which rooms need treating before you pay for any.

Fitting Visits Round Early Starts and Night Shifts
Someone on a night rota is asleep in the day, and someone on an early start leaves before dawn. A treatment that needs an empty room has to work round both. What tends to help:
- Collect the rotas. Ask every tenant for their shifts over the next fortnight, in writing.
- Pick the room order. Night-shift rooms are best done while that tenant is at work, not while they are trying to sleep.
- Agree access. If a tenant will be out, get their written agreement for the room to be entered, and give proper notice as the tenancy requires.
- Hand out one list. The same preparation sheet for every room in the Hounslow Town Centre house, so nobody says they were not told.
Chemical treatment costs less and each visit is short, which fits a house where rooms empty at different hours, but it runs as a course of two or sometimes three visits about ten to fourteen days apart, and every tenant has to keep their room ready each time. Heat is usually one visit and kills the eggs, but it takes most of a day and the room must be empty for all of it.
Uniforms, Lockers and Work Bags
People who work at or around the airport carry a uniform, a bag and sometimes a pillow or blanket between home and a staff room. That is not a reason to blame anyone, but it does mean the bags by the door deserve the same attention as the bed. Our guide to bedbugs in airport workers’ uniforms and bags sets out a simple routine for coming home.
Who Arranges and Pays
That depends on the tenancy agreements and on what caused the problem, and we are pest controllers, not legal advisers. What we can say is that tenants should report bedbugs to the landlord in writing, and landlords get the best result by treating the house as one job rather than one room at a time. Bedbug Control Hounslow Town Centre — Questions
Can we treat just the room where the tenant has bites?
You can, but it often costs more in the end. Rooms either side of it and the shared areas are where a problem goes next, so we want to see them before agreeing a plan.
One tenant works nights and will not leave the room in the day. What then?
Book their room for a day they are working, or choose a treatment whose visits are short enough to fit between shifts. Talk it through with us on the phone and we will suggest an order.
Should a tenant move into an empty room while theirs is treated?
No. Moving bedding and clothes into another room usually starts a second problem. They should stay put until the day of treatment.
How is the price worked out for a house in Hounslow Town Centre?
By the number of rooms and whether it is heat or chemical. Treatments start from £220, and the full figure is given on the phone before anything is booked.
A tenant says they are not being bitten. Do they still need to prepare?
Yes. Plenty of people do not react to bites at all, so no marks does not mean no bedbugs in that room.
