What Constant Turnover Changes
Heavy turnover means more luggage passing through every room, and a shorter gap in which to notice anything. Housekeeping has less time per room, and a guest who is bitten may be on a plane before the marks come up. The report you do receive may arrive days later, by email, about a room that has had several guests since.
The general approach to hotel work, from the first report to putting a room back on sale, is on the London hotel bedbug treatment page for the full explanation. What follows is how that looks when the room is never empty for long.
Taking the Room Off Sale Without Losing the Week
Close the reported room as soon as you know, and pull the booking system to see who has stayed in it since the date given. You do not need to contact those guests, but it tells you how long the room has been in use and which neighbouring rooms have shared a corridor with the same luggage trolley.
- Close the reported room and hold its linen in a sealed bag until it goes to the laundry.
- Check the rooms either side and the one above or below before the next arrival in each.
- Leave the reported room as housekeeping found it; do not vacuum or wipe down the headboard first.
- Ring us with the room numbers and the next free day for each.
Heat usually suits a hotel with this turnover best, because one visit means one night off sale and the room can be let again once it has cooled. A chemical course needs the room back empty about two weeks later, which is harder to protect in a full diary. The heat treatment page for Hounslow and the chemical page set out each.

Late Arrivals and Early Departures
With guests checking in at odd hours, the window when a room is empty and made up may be the middle of the day. That is often when we can work. Tell us your check-out and check-in times, and whether any rooms are held for crew or regular late arrivals, and we plan around them.
Housekeeping teams working quick turnarounds are your best early warning. A few seconds at each change-over, lifting the sheet at the head corners and glancing along the mattress piping and the luggage rack, catches most early cases. Our London guide on where hotels should check lists the places in full.
Staff Who Work Around the Airport
Hotel staff living locally may also work shifts elsewhere, and uniforms and bags move between home, locker and work. If a member of staff finds bites at home, they should not be blamed for the hotel’s problem, or the other way round. Our guide to bedbugs in airport workers’ uniforms and bags gives staff a routine for the locker room and for getting home, and it is worth printing for the staff room.
Smaller Guest Houses Near the Town Centre
A guest house with a handful of rooms has fewer rooms to juggle, but often less slack. Closing one of six is a large share of the week. The plan is the same, scaled down: close the room, check its neighbours, book heat on the next day it would otherwise be empty. If you live on the premises, keep sleeping in your own room and do not carry linen from the guest side through your own.
When a guest reports bites, thank them, offer a room that has been checked, and suggest a pharmacist or GP for the skin. Anyone showing signs of a severe allergic reaction needs 999. Do not debate where the bugs came from; with luggage coming off long-haul flights every day, nobody can say.

Records and Price
Every hotel visit ends with a written report: rooms inspected, what was found, what was treated and how. Keep it with your own housekeeping log. Together they show when each room was last clear, which is what a manager, an owner or an operator will want to see.
Hotel work is quoted on the rooms involved. Treatments start from £220, heat costs more than chemical, and inspections start from £120. Ring 0800 955 1018 with the room numbers and your next free dates, and you get the figure on the phone before anything is booked. For checking a run of rooms without treating, see bedbug inspections in Hounslow.

Hotel Bedbug Treatment Hounslow — Questions
How many nights will the room be off sale?
With heat, usually one: the room can be let again once it has cooled. A chemical course needs the room empty again about two weeks later.
Should we check the rooms next door?
Yes, before each of them is let again. Check the rooms either side, above and below, and tell us what you find.
Can you work in the middle of the day between check-out and check-in?
Often, yes. Tell us your times and which rooms are free, and we plan the visit around them.
The guest who complained has already flown home. What now?
Close the room anyway and have it checked. The report is still worth acting on, whether or not you can reach the guest again.
Do you provide paperwork for the hotel?
Yes. Every visit ends with a written report of what was inspected, found and treated.
How is hotel work priced?
It is quoted on the rooms involved. Treatments start from £220, and you get the figure on the phone before anything is booked.
