The Problem With a Report on a Busy Weekend
A guest report that comes in on the Saturday of a big event lands at the worst moment: every room is full, there is nowhere to move anyone, and the next wave of bookings arrives on Monday night or the following Friday. The temptation is to wipe the room down, change the sheets and sell it again. That is how one room becomes three.
The first response to a guest report, from apology to rebooking, is set out in the London hotel pages; the hotel bedbug treatment page has the full explanation. What follows is the timing side for a property that fills around events.
Using the Gap Between Events
Most event weekends leave a quieter stretch in the middle of the week. That is where the treatment goes. Tell us your event dates when you ring, and which rooms you can close for how long, and we plan from there:
- Close the reported room as soon as the guest leaves it. Do not strip it and do not move the furniture; bag the bedding in the room and take it straight to the wash.
- Close the rooms either side and, where there is one, the room above and below, until they are checked. A connecting door counts as a shared wall.
- Book the inspection and treatment into the midweek gap. We give you the price on the phone once we know the room count.
- Keep the treated rooms off sale until the technician has confirmed they can go back, and note the dates in your own records.

Heat or Chemical Between Weekends
The choice usually comes down to how many days you have. Heat treats the room in one visit, including the eggs, and the room can be used once it has cooled. For a property that needs a room back before the next event, that single visit is often the deciding factor, even though heat costs more. The heat treatment page for Brent covers what we need from a building on a heat day.
Chemical treatment is two, sometimes three visits about ten to fourteen days apart, with the room usable once the surfaces are dry after each one. That can fit a calendar where events are spaced out, as long as both visits fall in the quiet stretches and not on an event day. The chemical treatment page for Brent explains the course.
We will tell you honestly if the timing you want does not allow a proper treatment. Rushing a course to fit a weekend is the surest way to be treating the same room again a month later.
Short Lets and Serviced Flats
A flat let by the night on an event weekend has no housekeeping team, often no manager on site, and a cleaner who turns it round in a few hours. If the guest who reports bites has already left, the cleaner is the person most likely to spot the signs and the one who needs telling what to look for. If you let a room in your own home rather than a whole flat, the Wembley page covers checking and turning a room between visitors.
For a whole flat, the sensible order is: stop taking bookings for it, get it inspected, treat it, and reopen it once we have said it can go back. If the flat is in a managed block, the building will also want to know.

Protecting Rooms in the Busy Weeks
Busy periods bring more luggage through the doors, and bedbugs travel in luggage. You cannot check every case, but you can make the rooms easier to check. Luggage racks away from the bed, headboards that can be lifted off the wall, and housekeeping staff who know what spotting on a mattress seam looks like all shorten the time between a bedbug arriving and someone noticing.
Guests who want to check a room themselves can use the guide to checking a hotel room when you arrive. For a routine check of your rooms between events, inspections in Brent start from £120.
How Hotel Work Is Priced
Hotel and short-let work is quoted on the rooms involved, the treatment chosen and the timing. Treatments start from £220, and heat costs more than chemical. Ring 0800 955 1018 with the room numbers and your next event dates, and you get the figure before anything is booked. The Brent bedbug control page covers the wider borough.

Hotel Bedbug Treatment Brent — Questions
Can a room be treated and back on sale before the next event weekend?
Often, if the gap is used well. Heat usually needs one visit and the room is usable once cooled; a chemical course needs a second visit about ten to fourteen days later. We tell you on the phone what your dates allow.
Do we have to close the rooms next to the reported one?
Until they have been checked, it is the safer course. Bedbugs move through shared walls and connecting doors, and a room that looks clear may not be.
Can you treat a room during an event weekend?
If a room is empty, yes, but the building needs to allow the access and equipment on a busy day. Most properties prefer the midweek gap.
We run a short-let flat with no staff on site. How does access work?
You arrange entry, by key or code, and tell us what the cleaner or the guest reported. We tell you what we found and whether the flat can take bookings again.
How much does it cost to treat a hotel room?
Hotel work is quoted on the rooms involved and the treatment; treatments start from £220. You get the figure on the phone before anything is booked.
